Winter is a Great Time for Farming Your RE/MAX Real Estate Market

Family farm winter scene with red barn and snow covered landscape taken from a public roadAs the temperatures start dropping, farmers are ready to leave their fields behind for the winter. But for real estate professionals, this is a great time to sow some seeds for your spring real estate business.

Every season has its own character in the real estate business, and while winter is certainly not the busy season, that doesn’t mean it’s entirely dead, either. Career relocation still happens over the holidays, people still start families in the winter time, and some savvy buyers are out there looking for great deals when the weather outside is frightful.

All of this means that winter is a great time to put some effort into your marketing efforts. Hopefully, a slower season gives you the time to be proactive about where you want to reach out, rather than reacting to the pressures of a busy buying and selling season.

First, take some time to think about the areas where you did the most business. Were there areas, cities, or neighborhoods that gave you most of your listings? Were there areas where you would love to have more listings? Those are good areas to focus on with a slightly heavier rotation of seller-oriented marketing, like an assortment of RE/MAX prospecting postcards or proof of production postcards (if you’ve had a particularly good year).

If you’ve got a local area that seems to consistently produce buyers during the rest of the year, let them know that great housing deals are still out there! You may want to stay away from “Just Sold” postcards, which suggest that all the good houses might be gone, but open house, price reduced, and “Just Listed” RE/MAX postcards can make it clear that there are still great opportunities in the real estate market.

Finally, if you’re looking for a “just because” card to send out so your connections keep you in mind even when the market isn’t so hot, don’t worry – you have options. If you want to ride on the post-holiday wave, you can always send out some general winter-themed cards, or catch people later in the season with a sweet Valentine’s-themed RE/MAX postcard. And if you’d prefer something other than a holiday theme, why not send out an inspirational or funny real estate postcard?

When it comes to real estate farming postcards, don’t let anything hold you back – with BestPrintBuy, the sky’s the limit.
