In an old Seinfeld episode – almost twenty years old, in fact – George Costanza describes himself as “Like a commercial jingle. First it’s a little irritating, then you hear it a few times, you’re hummin’ it in the shower.”

Very few of us like to think of ourselves as a little irritating, at first. But the scene is a powerful set-up for the episode because it’s so relatable. Who hasn’t had a jingle of one kind or another get stuck in your head? That added familiarity is a great way for people to get used to a new product.

When you’re marketing your real estate business, you’re the product. Anything you can do to get your information out in front of prospects will help boost your name recognition. This works particularly well when combined with photos. If you have yard signs all over town with your name and face prominently displayed, you’d better believe that people will know who you are when they receive a real estate farming postcard with your information on it!

Yard signs and postcards aren’t the only way to get your name out. Use the same photo on your Keller Williams business cards as you use on your signs. Whether prospects get your card before seeing one of your signs, or vice versa, it’s a great opportunity to demonstrate that you’re out there in their community, helping their neighbors buy and sell homes.

What you wear can also have an impact on whether people recognize you. With custom-branded Keller Williams apparel in trademark red, white, and black colors, you can carry your brand with you in a subtle and approachable way.

Finally, don’t forget about the value of car magnets! Real estate agents put a lot of miles on their vehicles. Why not use that mileage to turn your car into a traveling billboard to advertise your own smiling face (and business)?

It may feel weird at first seeing your name and face all around town, but soon enough you’ll find people smiling along with you every time they see you.
