Does your real estate business card actually reflect your real estate business?

Real State Business Card

How many contact options does your business card currently list? Most real estate agents include at least a phone number (or two, if you include an office and a cell number), a fax number, and an email address; many go a step further and include a personalized website and a handful of social media profiles, as well.

The prevailing wisdom says that if you want people to get in touch with you, you should give them as many ways to do so as possible. But do all of these options have to be listed on your business card? Almost every prospect you meet will have a smartphone, or at the very least will have internet access at home. A simple search will bring up all of your contact information in an instant. In a post-Google world, should we re-think the basics of a real estate business card?

Let’s face it: there’s not a whole lot of room on your business card to convey your unique identity. Even if you use the space on the back side of the card, by the time you’ve included a company logo, a professional photo, a QR code, and a name, you’re about out of room. Instead of using a business card to list all of these ways a prospect can get in touch with you, why not give some thought to showing them why they should? Let your business card serve as a reminder of your connection, and an invitation to learn more about how you can help.

Think about the testimonials you get, and what your clients (past and present) say they love about you. Then, focus your real estate business card on the message you truly want to convey. Do you make it easy for clients to get in touch with you, day or night? Try branding yourself as “The real estate agent who’s really there for you”. Do you want clients to know that you’re in touch with modern real estate marketing strategies? Keep the focus on a QR code or an easy-to-remember personalized URL, and let prospects know that you’ve got up-to-the-minute information about local listings.

Whatever message you choose, it should reflect the value you bring to the table. Don’t waste any more time handing out generic white rectangles – create a new real estate business card today, and show your prospects what you can do for them.
